MaryLee Guthrie
How long have you been a part of the Boys & Girls Club movement?
I began volunteering full-time at the Club in January 2006. In April of that year, I became a full-time employee of the Club.

How long have you been a member of the West Central Missouri community?
I was born and raised in La Monte and moved backed here in 1995 after living in Kansas City for a while.

What brought you to the Boys & Girls Club?
My desire to leave a legacy. As a single mom raising a young daughter, it was important to me that my life reflect the life lessons I was trying to teach her. I wanted to make a difference for her and for her future. The best way for me to do that was to dedicate as much of my life as possible to the mission of providing hope and opportunity to our youth, our future.

What are your hopes and aspirations for the Club?
My passion is to fulfill the belief that every child has within them thepotential to BE GREAT.

What keeps you coming to the Club every day?I come for each and every one of our 2,220 members…every day.

Chris Clark
The BrickHouse Theatre focuses on the fundamentals of theater while allowing members to find their spotlight on the stage. The BrickHouse Theatre is coordinated by Chris Clark who has over 20 years of experience in professional, educational and civic theatre.

George Cooper
ShutterBugs Photography gives members an opportunity to focus on the “real world” of photography as they are “exposed” to a new world perspective. ShutterBugs Photography is coordinated by George Cooper, who has been a professional photographer for 14 years and models his curriculum after the college program at the University of Central Missouri.

Casey Wikstrom
The Culture Club gives teens an exciting way to learn about other cultures and regions of the world through hands-on activities. The Culture Club module is coordinated by Casey Wikstrom who grew up in Cole Camp and came back to the Boys & Girls Club after college to teach members about the huge world that is awaiting their discovery.
